Exeter City Council is seeking views on its draft City Centre Strategy, covering 2026–31, which sets out a vision for its appearance, safety, its economy, living and connectivity.
The strategy aims to capture pride in our city centre, whilst increasing its offer and range of experiences. The city centre’s vitality is central to the quality of life experienced by our residents both local and visiting from further afield. The strategy will ensure a sustainable future for our High Street and city centre.
To develop the City Centre Strategy, a number of activities have taken place:
Workshops held with the business community
Councillor workshop
Drawing in the results of the 2025 Exeter residents survey
Desktop research on national and regional trends, policy and legislation
From this, a vision was developed for Exeter City Centre, as well as supporting themes, which will help deliver the vision.
Exeter City Council would like your views on Exeter City Centre. Whether you live, work or visit Exeter, you are invited to take part in this survey.
This survey asks for your feedback on the vision and themes within the strategy, your responses will help shape how the strategy is delivered over the next 5 years.
